Marcelo Bielsa continues to add victories in the Premier League. This time, against Crystal Palace, Leeds United managed to beat Roy Hodgson’s team 2-0 in a match that put two ways of approaching football on the pitch: the frantic and sentimental style of the ‘Loco’ before the order and pragmatism of the Crystal Palace coach. A litmus test for what it could mean to face one of the rivals who can pose the most complications to their rivals in the face of goal, and in turn be able to unhinge the whites if they couldn’t score.
Leeds was quick to get ahead of the game. Through Jack Harrison, those from Bielsa scored the first goal in the second minute after a recovery in the rival field in which they managed to see the goal. They did not stop looking for another goal and the ‘Loco’ team approached Guaita on more than one occasion during the first half. Without success, but with options in attack, the locals dominated the match and gave Crystal Palace no chance to react to balance things out.
In the second half, Leeds did not take long to score their second goal of the match. Although both teams went to the locker room with the feeling of being able to do more (both whites to mark the second as the eagles to generate more danger), it was again those of Bielsa who managed to get the ball into the goal. This time it was Bamford, who continues to respond to all the confidence that the ‘Loco’ has put in his figure as nine. The English forward joined the good meeting of his team, in which a Raphinha that each day is taking a greater magnitude. With 2-0 down, Roy Hodgson’s team tried to respond by going more on the attack, but the dominance of Leeds did not stop to take the three points.
