The Government decides today whether to extend the current restrictions to contain the pandemic of coronavirus, which are in force since last January 7 in Catalonia. Despite the improvement in the epidemiological situation, the healthcare pressure and the threat of new variants, covid-19 will force us to maintain the measures, although “With small openings”, explained yesterday the Secretary of Public Health, Josep Maria Argimon.
As advanced this Thursday TV3, the government will expand the confinement from municipal to regional and it will allow bars and restaurants to open one more hour in the different time slots, starting on Monday, February 8.
Restrictions from January 7
The Government will announce at 11:30 am new measures and possible changes. So far, these are the restrictions that it has been maintaining for the different sectors:
Bars and restaurants
Capacity of 30% indoors and 100% on the terraces. Only with 4 people per table, up to 6 if they are from the same coexistence bubble.
Service with two time slots: to serve breakfast (from 07:30 to 09:30) and lunch (from 13:00 to 15:00). Dinners can also be served, but at home, with a schedule from 7:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m.
Business hours
These establishments are closed on weekends. For the rest of the days, the capacity is 30% and neither shopping centers nor those shops whose surface area exceeds 400 square meters will be able to open.
Municipal confinement
You can only leave the municipality with a good reason, such as going to work or to the doctor. On the occasion of the Catalan elections, it will be allowed to travel to another municipality to go to a polling station to vote. On the other hand, the curfew begins at 10:00 p.m.

Sport activities
Are allowed if they are outdoors and with a maximum of six people. Therefore, the gyms remain closed. Yes, sports practice is allowed for non-competitive federated athletes in outdoor facilities and the opening of swimming pools at 30%.
Cultural events
Cinemas and theaters can be open, but at half its capacity and with a maximum of 5000 people. With optimal ventilation, the maximum goes up to a thousand attendees. The playgrounds will have to close at 8:00 p.m. and their occupation is also reduced by half.
