On this occasion, we sensitized the athletes and sports leaders of the PGG Sports League, where the topic “Consequences of Smoking and Hookah” was taught, explained Johanna González, in charge of the Sports Prevention Department.
González explained that since last week and in response to the authorization of the Health Cabinet, the program of interventions that the CND will carry out in hundreds of leagues and sports clubs throughout the country began.
Eighteen young athletes and three sports coaches participated in the discussion, who are responsible for providing training. The participating teachers are Andy Lora García, Lucas Mella Castillo and Alberto Belén, who serves as coordinator of the program.
“This time we show athletes and coaches the harmful consequences caused by the constant use of Hookah for health and remind them that a young athlete must have a healthy body and mind,” said González, who was accompanied by coach Damián Agüero.
Sensitization
González explained that the initiative seeks to sensitize young athletes about the consequences that it can cause in the continued use of tobacco in Hookah.
He said that by instructions of the president of the CND guidance will be given to hundreds of sports leagues, so that coaches, athletes and parents can become multipliers at the same time on the danger of the abuse of psychoactive substances such as heroin, cocaine, steroids, hormones and diuretics, among others.
