The injury problems at Barcelona haven’t let up at all this season and Ronald Koeman‘s side have been massively affected by the absences of some key players.
Astonishingly, only Clement Lenglet, Frenkie De Jong, Antoine Griezmann, Pedri, Rique Puig and Francisco Trincao have avoided the treatment table so far this campaign.
The most serious injury in the squad has been that of Ansu fati. He was originally expected to to be ready for the clash against Paris Saint Germain on March 10, but a return date is currently unknown. Spanish television station Tv3 reported that he’s now undergone a second surgery, with a third also a possibility.
Fati isn’t the only one who’s had medical treatment this season, though, with Marc Andre ter Stegen, Araujo, Gerard Pique, Samuel Umtiti, Oscar Mingueza, Jordi Alba, Junior Firpo, Sergino Dest, Sergi Roberto, Sergio Busquets, Matheus Fernandes, Philippe Coutinho, Lionel Messi, Ousmane Dembele, Martin Braithwaite, Neto and Miralem Pjanic all needing medical attention so far.
Fati has missed 13 matches so far, with Pique not far behind him having missed 12. The defender is recovering well but will remain side-lined for a few weeks yet. Sergi Roberto has missed the third most games and is out once again after getting a knock against Granada.
Coutinho has missed seven games, Umtiti 11 and Araujo and Ter Stegen have both missed seven. The rest of the squad haven’t missed any more than four games.
