This means that the match, the first leg for the round of 16, cannot be played on the scheduled date of February 16 in Leipzig.

Germany will not allow Liverpool to enter the country to play the Champions League match on the Leipzig court on February 16 due to border restrictions imposed due to new variants of the coronavirus.
Germany’s interior minister reported that Leipzig’s application to grant Liverpool special permission to enter the country was rejected by the federal police.
In a statement, the ministry said that the decree with the restrictions approved last Friday only stipulates a few exceptions and “none special for professional athletes.”
“The federal police have informed the RB Leipzig club that the circumstances of the particular case do not meet the requirements for granting an exception,” he added.
This means that the match, the first leg for the round of 16, cannot be played on the scheduled date of February 16 in Leipzig.
The German club could ask Uefa to move the match to a neutral court.
Another option would be to change the order of the matches, so that Liverpool is local first, but this would imply that the entire Leipzig expedition has to serve a quarantine when returning to Germany after the stay in Great Britain.
Plan B
Uefa has also given room for maneuver to delay dates in the event of travel restrictions.
This same week he set April 2 as the last possible day to complete the round of eighths.
To prevent the spread of new variants of the virus, Germany has banned almost all non-German citizens from entering the country.
If the restrictions are extended beyond the current expiration date of February 17, Manchester City’s visit to face Borussia Mönchengladbach on February 24 could be affected.
In the Europa League, Arsenal’s matches in its series against Benfica could be affected by restrictions imposed by the British authorities on travel to and from Portugal.
