The Cesar Vallejo University will be the first Peruvian team to have action in 2021. The ‘poet’ team will debut in Phase 1 of the Liberators cup against Caracas FC, the most winning club in Venezuela. The duel is scheduled to take place on Wednesday, February 24 on national soil, although the scenario has not yet been defined.
The last official meeting held by the ‘llanero’ cast was on December 15, 2020. In that clash they fell by the minimum difference against Deportivo Lara and lost the option of reaching the second phase of the continental tournament.
Thus, they did not have much time to rest and for three weeks they have already been preparing for its premiere at the Liberators cup, where a few days ago they learned that they will have as a rival the team of José Guillermo del Solar.
With regard to the signings, it has so far incorporated four players. The national players, Edson Castillo, (Atl. Zacatepec – Mexico) and Miguel Celis (Zulia). In addition to the Africans Samson Akinyoola (FK Senica-Slovakia) and Ade Oguns (36 Lion FC-Nigeria).
Also, the cast of the ‘Demonios Rojos’ will once again have the presence of several footballers who finished their loan period: Rubert Quijada (Alianza Lima – PER), Eduardo Herrera (Puerto Cabello) and Edwuin Pernía (Emelec -ECU).
Thus, the former defender of the Blue and White team will return to our country to defend the colors of the cast where he managed to become the best footballer of the Venezuelan championship during the 2019 season.
It should be remembered that the last time that Caracas FC played in the international competition was in the 2020 edition. It ended up ranking third (qualifying for the South American Cup) in the group made up of Boca Juniors, Libertad and Independiente Medellín.
