LONDON, Feb 9 (Reuters) – The Premier League launched an action plan on Tuesday to eradicate racial prejudice and create more opportunities for ethnic minority groups in football.

The plan builds on measures already taken by the Premier League and clubs to promote equality, diversity and inclusion.

“Soccer is a diverse sport … This diversity has made the game stronger on the pitch and it is vital that we ensure that this is reflected in all areas of the game,” said the CEO. of the Premier League, Richard Masters.

The “No Place for Racism” action plan reinforces the Premier League’s ongoing commitment to promoting equality and fighting discrimination.

“There is no place for racism in our sport and the Premier League will continue to act against all forms of discrimination to make football inclusive and welcoming to all.”

The plan, which has received unanimous backing from all 20 Premier League clubs, aims to improve opportunities for blacks, Asians and other minorities to play, coach and coach.

It will also focus on taking action against all forms of racism, such as raising awareness, educating fans, improving the effectiveness of reporting abusive behavior, and improving the enforcement and effectiveness of sanctions.
