Sevilla issued an official medical report to inform that Argentine winger Lucas Ocampos suffers a “Grade II sprain of the anterior syndesmosis and calcaneal peroneal ligament of the left ankle”. A hopeful diagnosis, much better than feared, because in the club they thought that there could be a total tear of the ligaments or, in any case, a sprain degree at least.

Ocampos had to leave the Sánchez Pizjuán lawn on a stretcher after a hard tackle from the Getafense player Djené, that he was sent off with a direct red card. He was in the hospital on Saturday night and then he went home. Treatment is already under way to return as soon as possible.
“Periodic reviews will be carried out to check the evolution of the player,” says the Nervionense club without estimating a time of absence for Ocampos. In any case, and although he will have to be out for several weeks and is of course ruled out for the Champions League tie against Borussia Dortmund, the player’s recovery times could be shortened compared to what was initially thought.
