The return of Mauro Obolo to Belgrano: he will be part of Artime’s sports directory | Football24 News English

After proclaiming himself as the new president of Belgrano, Luis Fabian Artime announced that Alejandro Orfila will be the new DT and also added that the former player of the club, Mauro Obolo, will be part of the sports management.

Mauro was collaborating with businessman Christian Bragarnik in his player representation agency.

Now, he will assume this new role to accompany Artime in the Pirate’s sports decisions.

“We were always consistent, we have been working and following players for 14 months. Mauro Óbolo will be part of the sports directory of the institution. Recognized player and idol of Belgrano who will help us. In the week we will add some more names. And the technician is called Alejandro Orfila, tomorrow we sign and on Monday he starts working. Even those who did not vote for us have to help us make a bigger and bigger Belgrano ”, completed the new Pirata president.

In December 2016, before Rosario Central, at Kempes, Juan Olave said goodbye to his professional activity. And in that match, Mauro Obolo stopped playing for the Pirate and left thinking about having another chance. But later, in the quiet of his home, the determination to say goodbye to football on the professional ladder was adopted.

“I never got completely away from Belgrano. Because I keep going to the court and to some training sessions. I do not have a relationship with the leaders, but as I said once: you are not going to relegation for one game or for doing things wrong for a month. I think there were several reasons, such as bad decisions. It was a chain of poorly adopted decisions that were taken, ”Óbolo said some time ago before World D.

“I think that those players (in reference to Farré, Olave and other ex-pirates) should always be inside the club, it is a waste to have them away. I know them all and I know the kind of person they are and the feeling they have for Belgrano. And surely in the place that they had to be, they would bring positive things to the institution. They would have to be one way or another. They and many others that we do not name now, but who love the club, know what it is, have suffered for it and grew up here, ”he said.

Now it will be your turn to return to the club to collaborate in a new role.

A 39-year-old native of the town of Arroyito, Obolo has a long career in soccer.

He made part of his inferiors in Boca and then ended up in Vélez. In 2001 he would arrive in Belgrano, where he had a very good first stage.

Then he would play for Piacenza from Italy, Lanús, Burgos from Spain, Arsenal, AIK from Sweden, Vélez, Godoy Cruz, Universidad Católica de Chile and Belgrano, where he closed his story.

Undoubtedly, all that international experience will help him to help the Pirate return to the fore.
