New details were released about the accident that ended the life of Kobe Bryant, his daughter Gianna and seven other people. The helicopter pilot would have broken federal laws for flying in the fog, which surely disoriented him and caused the fall of the aircraft, investigators reported through The New York Times.
Ara Zobayan, the pilot who also died that morning of January 26, 2020, operated under rules that prohibited him from flying into the clouds, but nevertheless continued with the flight.

According to Second National Transporation CommitteeZobayan indicated that he was trying to climb above the clouds, while in fact he was falling rapidly, a sign that he was disoriented, specialists said.
Bill English, the lead investigator on the case, told board members that the pilot had crashed just minutes from an airport where he could have landed. Once disoriented, Zobayan made no reference to his instruments, did not understand them, or did not trust them. Nine people died in the accident.
