Williams sets date for presentation of his FW43B | Football24 News English

Williams F1 announced on Friday that its new car for the Formula 1 2021 will see the light for the first time on March 5. Although the team has not given more details on whether the event will be at its headquarters or virtually, it has revealed what its new car will be called.

Although there were doubts about whether the new owners, Dorilton Capital, they were going to keep the traditional name of the Grove team cars, the 2021 model will be called FW43B.

The B refers to the fact that the chassis remains intact compared to 2020, due to the F1 regulations to save costs after the start of the pandemic.

The last time a Williams car was christened that letter B was in 1995, when Damon Hill Y David Coulthard they released a second version of the FW17 for the final five races of the season as a transition to the 1996 FW18.

George Russell and Nicholas Latifi will also be Williams drivers in 2021 after sharing a garage last year.

The legendary British team desperately needs to take flight, after completing a 2020 season into oblivion, failing to score a single point for the first time in its 44-year career in the category.
