Madrid, Feb 3 (EFE) .- Puerto Rican JJ Barea debuted this Wednesday in the Endesa League with a defeat for his new team, Movistar Estudiantes, against Casademont Zaragoza (73-79) in a match in which the veteran Game Director was on the court for more than 24 minutes in which he contributed fourteen points and finished with a valuation of eight credits.
The former NBA champion came out in the Madrid team’s starting quintet and from the beginning he took responsibility in attack, although in the five minutes of the first quarter he played he could only score a two-point basket, his first in the Endesa League, failing others two shots near the rim and a triple.
He did better in the second act, in which he reactivated his team’s attack when he was having the worst time with a pair of triples and another two-point basket that contributed to the match coming even at half-time, contributing ten of the 40 schoolboy points (40-39).
After passing through the changing rooms, he could do little against a rival who was much superior and who beat him in scoring (22-11) in a third quarter in which Barea contributed four more points, while in the last ten minutes he could not help your team with their baskets.
In his first game with the Madrid team, the Puerto Rican hit with three of his ten two-point shots (30%) and with two of the seven triples he tried (28%). He also made the two free throws he had available, captured a defensive rebound and distributed three assists.
He recovered three balls and recovered another three and forced five personal fouls, bringing his final rating on his debut to eleven credits.
JJ Barea’s next performance will be on Sunday, February 7, in the regional derby against Real Madrid in a match corresponding to matchday 23 of the Endesa League. EFE
