A week after the list of 24 eligible players for the third FIBA window was known, the coach Fernando Duró reduced it to 15 members, who will carry out training prior to the trip to Cali, Colombia.
The group will have about 12 days for physical conditioning and tactical adjustments by the coaching staff, before embarking on the trip and playing against Chile and Colombia on February 21 and 22.
José Sojo, Alí Mata and Andrés Marrero continue to be novelties within the choices of Duró and his coaching staff. The three youngsters are close to making their debut with the senior national team.
In addition to them, Gregory Vargas returns to the call, who was absent from the last FIBA window due to professional commitments in Romania.
In the training center of the national team, El Poliedrito, there are 11 of the 15 chosen, since Marrero, a player who agreed to be linked to La Salle University in the NCAA, still remains in the United States. While Michael Carrera in Spain playing with Fuerza Lleida and both Néstor Colmenares and Miguel Ruiz do the same in Argentina.

Tests
On Monday, February 8, the delegation that will travel to Colombia carried out the first PCR tests necessary to be able to obtain the permit and travel to Colombia. As happened in November, during the basketball Super League bubble, the team members must undergo routine PCR testing every 4 days, as stipulated by FIBA protocols.
