“We know of the existence of projects to carry out the Women’s League, which has planning, budget and structure and that were presented to Dimayor, but have not been taken into account. We are concerned about the immense setback in terms of the duration of the competition since instead of evolving and having greater competition each year, continuity is lost. This prevents the necessary visibility for the achievement of sponsorships and clubs interested in investing in women’s football ”, they indicate in the statement.

And they add: “” The Professional League is fundamental for the processes of Selection Colombia in its differents categories. It is the main stage for the players to stay in shape and discover new talents for the Colombian National Team and is pthe platform so that they have the option to play abroad and acquire more international touch ”.

The soccer players warn that there is no planning in the country.

“With sadness we see that there is a lack of commitment and willingness to plan a solid structure that allows us to execute a long-term project. Women’s football in Colombia cannot continue to be treated as a matter that must be complied with, women’s football is a reality and as the highest representatives of sport, it is our duty to raise our voices so that this reality is recognized and respected as part of the processes of a social state of law where equality and the right to decent work are fundamental pillars ”, they argued.
