In 2020, Splunk began collaborating with McLaren to implement its Data-to-Everything platform, helping improve performance across the entire McLaren Racing team by putting data into action for every question and decision on and off the track. Splunk will continue to capture data from across the McLaren Group infrastructure, network and server environment. This also encompasses the role of McLaren Racing, including the team’s Formula 1 cars, to help accelerate operations and performance to benefit the team.
As part of the partnership, the Splunk brand will be represented on Lando Norris and Daniel Ricciardo’s McLaren F1 driver racing suits, McLaren Formula 1 MCL35M race car pontoons and cockpits, and team apparel.
McLaren CEO Zak Brown said: “Over the past year, our work with Splunk has been incredibly beneficial to our team. In the fast-paced, technology-rich environment of Formula 1, data is central to our team and integral to how we operate effectively and efficiently. We are delighted to expand our partnership with Splunk, allowing us to continue to deploy its expertise and the Data-to-Everything platform, providing our team with valuable information to strengthen our operations and performance. “
Splunk President and CEO Doug Merritt added: “High performance on the racetrack comes down to split-second decisions and data is the key to making that happen. Splunk’s Data-to-Everything platform provides the McLaren Racing team with valuable information and machine learning capabilities that allow the team to turn their data into action. We are excited to expand our partnership with the team both on and off the track.
