The finish line of one Super Bowl marks the starting point for the next.
So, just as the Tampa machine was shutting down on Monday in the wake of Super Bowl LV, the Los Angeles Super Bowl Host Committee on Tuesday released its logo, game plan for the event, and a launch video featuring Snoop Dogg.
“The return of the NFL to Los Angeles wasn’t just about a team or two playing a few games at home,” said Casey Wasserman, chair of the host committee. “It’s about all the other things that they could bring to the city, the community and the region. There may never have been a better time to talk about hope, optimism and recovery, after the Los Angeles Super Bowl comes after, hopefully, the coronavirus pandemic. “
Originally, this year’s Super Bowl was awarded to Los Angeles, but construction delays at Inglewood Stadium caused Tampa to step in to host this game and Los Angeles to host the next one.
“I was there for the opening game,” NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell said of SoFi Stadium, “and it was the first time that I was obviously there for an event, and it’s remarkable, not just the facilities, the stadium in yes, but the surrounding area.
“We are very excited to be there. We think that stadium is obviously going to set a new standard in the world, so bringing our Super Bowl will be exciting. “
About 25,000 fans attended Super Bowl LV at Raymond James Stadium, and 7,500 of them were vaccinated first to respond. The Rams and Chargers weren’t allowed to have viewers this season, and Goodell is hopeful the shots will bring change.
“I don’t know what the environment will be like next year; we will be prepared for that, ”he said. “We hope it fills up with fans, and not just in the stadium, but around the stadium and enjoying the facilities, and we get back to a more normal cadence. But safety drives everything we’ve done this year and safety will drive that decision as we get closer to it, making sure we obviously keep the participants, as well as our fans and others, safe during that process. “

The Los Angeles host committee logo consists of a few lines that evoke the outline of SoFi Stadium, and the campaign mantra is Champions Shine Here (Here the champions shine). This will mark the first Super Bowl in the Los Angeles area since the Rose Bowl hosted one at the end of the 1992 season.
Inglewood Mayor James T. Butts Jr. said: “In a post-pandemic world, events like the Super Bowl create a great opportunity for economic activity to return to the communities and industries most affected by COVID-19. . Major events like the Super Bowl not only stimulate economic activity, but also produce a greater sense of community and civic pride. “
The host committee launched a business connection program and accepted applications for around 250 locally owned and diverse companies in event production. The deadline for applications is February 23.
“This is a great opportunity for those companies to stand up to the NFL contractors to try and do business around Super Bowl events,” said Kathy Schloessman, president and CEO of the Sports and Entertainment Commission of The Angels.
Schloessman said there are a wide range of volunteer opportunities for the Super Bowl and surrounding events throughout the year. More information is available at LASuperBowlHC.com, due out Tuesday.
