The local Diego Willis participated in the two games that his team, the New Jersey Institute of Technology (NJIT), played this week in the NCAA Men’s Basketball League; where they divided honors before the UMBC (University of Maryland Baltimore County) Perdigueros leaders.
In the first game, held last Sunday, the NJIT Highlanders won a close 69-65 score, in which the Hermosillo participated as a substitute for 11 minutes on the home court in Newark, New Jersey, collaborating with pair of points, a steal and five rebounds.
Later, on Tuesday, Willis Orozco again entered the exchange game and spent more time in the game by participating in 18 minutes, and although he did not score points, he caught two boards, in addition to recovering a ball.
Now the Sonoran player counts 14 games –all as emergent-, with 289 minutes of action and 82 points, for an average of 5.9 units per game; As for three-point shots, he has made eleven shots.
With the honors division they achieved in the sixth series of the season, the Highlanders put their record at 6-8 to place themselves in the eighth rung of the standing in the NCAA Men’s Basketball East Division. The Perdigueros were 11-4 but remain at the top of the table.
According to the 2020-21 season schedule, the Highlanders will go on tour in their next engagement to face the Binghamton University Bearcats next weekend, Saturday 6 and Sunday 7 February, in Vestal, New York.
