The Chilean mountaineer Juan Pablo Mohr is the protagonist of a worrying news at this time.

The national athlete was reported missing, in the middle of his expedition through K2, one of the highest risk mountains in this discipline, located in the Karakorum mountain range, between China and Pakistan.

The North Face, one of the companies that have Mohr as an ambassador, confirmed the news through a statement.

“During the last hours our athlete Juan Pablo Mohr along with two other mountaineers are without reporting to the Base Camp in the winter expedition in K2”, says the letter.

“The extreme cold has led to the freezing of communication devices, preventing contact with any of them, “adds the text.

The company confirmed that an exhaustive search for the athletes began “with the support of the expeditions in the area and the Pakistani army.”

Note that Juan Pablo Mohr became in 2019 the first Chilean to reach Everest without the help of supplemental oxygen.
