Demanding training and pandemic
Asked about the workouts of an elite athlete, Renato comments that his high performance training routine is quite demanding.
From sports and technical training in water, in the gym, physical preparation and even the work he does on the mental part. “It is a very complex training, since it is demanding on a day-to-day basis,” he highlights.

You have to continue, “he says.
He argued that the pandemic was difficult for everyone since the pools were kept closed for a time. “We had to stay at home, find new ways to stay active and try not to stop in what is physical training and taking extra care in what is food, which were the things in which I had control,” he says.
“We had full support from the National Sports Secretariat in conjunction with the Olympic Committee. They were super good. They helped us a lot in what was the pandemic so that we can be active as soon as possible and they opened the doors to us as much as they could, which is something important. They contributed to this achievement that we now have in Buenos Aires ”, he said about it.
We have to put aside physical inactivity
The swimmer highlighted the SND virtual classes as an excellent way to keep the population active during this pandemic.
“Physical inactivity is something that we have to overcome in our country, so I think it is an excellent initiative from the SND and I hope it will continue as they are great,” he concludes.
