La International Federation of Football History and Statistics (IFFHS) has chosen Lionel Messi as the best player of the decade. The Argentine leads a list, released by the agency, with the 10 best footballers. However to the surprise of several, the archer Keylor Navas is not on the list.
For the IFFHS, Cristiano is on the second rung; while the podium of the great stars is completed by Andrs Iniesta. The brazilian Neymar was placed in fourth place.
Although the Portuguese conquered four Champions League with Real Madrid and had an outstanding scoring quota, what Messi did at Barcelona has been more than enough for the criteria in this list.
For its part, Zlatan Ibrahimovic is another of the cracks that stands out on the list. The striker throughout these years also had a couple of seasons at the LA Galaxy where he stood out and recently has provided a great season with Milan.
Unfortunately, from the Concacaf area, Keylor Navas was not chosen in the top 10. Above the Costa Rican, who won three Champions League with Real Madrid, are Manuel Neuer and the historic Gianluigi Buffon.
