The plans were to fly after the match against Hertha, which was brought forward half an hour for that purpose, and Bayern were at the Willy Brandt airport in Berlin-Brandenburg at 22:45.
The plane was supposed to take off at 11:15 p.m., but was only ready to do so at 11:59 p.m.
At the Berlin airport, take-offs after midnight are not allowed and as the take-off time is one minute and a half, it was necessary to request a special authorization from the authorities of the state of Brandenburg, which was not granted.

“The Brandenburg authorities do not know what they have done to our team,” Bayern Munich Chairman of the Board of Directors Karlheinz Rummenigge told the daily “Bild”.
Bayern traveled with 22 players and without Javi Martínez or Leon Goretzka who have gone through a coronavirus infection but it is not ruled out that they will later join the team.
