This week they announced the first signings for the 2021 season. Amaury Cordeel and Lorenzo Colombo will race for Campos Racing in the FIA F3. Both come from the Formula Renault Eurocup.
Colombo has spent three years in this category and last year closed his participation with a triple victory in the last round of the championship. For him it will be a ‘return’ to Campos Racing, since in 2017 he ran the last races of the Euroformula Open with the Alzira team.
“I am pleased to welcome Lorenzo to the team on behalf of all of Campos Racing and especially my father Adrián Campos. We have tried to make this partnership possible in recent seasons without success for several different reasons. Lorenzo has always been very close to the team. and he was the type of driver my father followed since we met four years ago. I’m sure Lorenzo will be able to show this season why my father believed in him and described him as an extremely talented driver with great potential. ” , said Adrián Campos Jr.
The Belgian Amaury Cordeel, who began to learn in Spanish F4, a category of which he was champion in 2018, has been in the Formula Renault Eurocup for two years, last year under the banner of the FA Racing team.
“Amaury is a driver that we know is capable of winning a championship like he did in Spanish Formula 4 in 2018 and in which we have great hopes,” said Campos Jr., welcoming the Belgian.
Campos Racing still has a free seat for Formula 3 and is expected to have its full line-up before the end of this month. At the moment only Prema, ART, Hitech and HWA have their three determined drivers and there are still 13 free spots to complete the grid.
